Irvine Welsh’s ecstasy Trailer Drops.
‘Trainspotting’ by Scottish author, Irvine Welsh was a seminal text, one of the most culturally defining novels of its time that depicted a depressive Edinburgh street life focussing on a group of heroin users entwined by a common cast and a narrative.
The book went on to great acclaim which followed with a film adaptation of equal measure directed by Danny Boyle and starring, Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Robert Carlyle and Kelly Macdonald.
His latest book adaptation directed by Rob Heydon is a twisted tale that explores the euphoric highs and the devastating lows of a chemical romance based onthe controversial book, Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance.
ecstasy follows Lloyd (Adam Sinclair) who is on top of the world – beautiful girls, great club sounds, and a never ending supply of the love drug, sustained by a smuggling sideline for the local drug boss Solo (Carlo Rota). But when he meets Heather (Kristin Kreuk) he is forced to question if the love he feels is real or just another chemical high. As cracks start to appear in his world he realises he wants out. If he can just pull off one last trip for Solo, he’ll be free.
Also starring Billy Boyd as DJ and e-prophet Woodsy, cameos from John Digweed and Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson, and a pulsing soundtrack from some of the industry’s biggest names, including Tiesto, Coldplay, Orbital, Primal Scream, Bonjay, The Mahones and Hawksley Workman.
Due for release in the UK on April 20, 2012 check out the new trailer above, Irvine himself says of the film, “if someone doesn’t like this film, they are a c*nt!” - WELL, I guess we’d best head to the fan page and like it at www.facebook.com/IrvineWelshsEcstacy

CAN. NOT. WAIT.

THIS WEEK’S READ: “Less Than Zero” by Bret Easton Ellis.
Continuing our efforts to read the literature before the celluloid adaptation, we are now finishing off the American Psycho author’s book about a group of rich and to some extent famous teenagers as their lives descend deeper into a world decadence, from sex, drugs, and music whilst quite simply in search of something to do with their lavish lives. With nothing to risk, they are dead to the world and completely soulless until the morality of how far they are willing to go comes in to question and lives become endangered.
