PUMA Social - “Pump Up” Ad.

Following on from the success of the ‘After Hours Athlete’, the Puma Social site have now launched this ad spot to mark a new phase in the Social strategy.

The campaign which applauds the champions of late night games, from ping pong to foosball to phone numbers, wholeheartedly encouraging the 5AM cab over the 5AM run has really pushed the social scene connecting the gap between online and the the real world and creating conversation throughout.

From designing a range with DJ, Deadmau5, designing exclusive ping pong paddles, partnering with culture junkie friends Who’s Jack magazine for an editorial photoshoot, and even creating their own Foursquare badges as well as hosting a series of social nights at venues across the world to spread the word - the brands initiative has remained social throughout.

We look forward to seeing what else they have planned, watch this space for news.

Puma After Hours Athletes London Party.
Whilst we often claim to be great at almost every sport, the realisation is, we actually aren’t. Unless you take in consideration ping pong, darts or pool then we are all top of our game right?
Sportsmen of these disciplines needn’t calorie count, worry about fitness training or hydration levels, unless its a case of who’s round it is next. No, these sports are for the after hours athlete and something PUMA wish to celebrate people who are active socially, not just athletically - the only time we run is to catch a cab home.
As part of a global campaign to promote their new category of footwear, the sports and lifestyle brand are holding a party at East London’s, Queen of Hoxton with VICE on June 14. Claiming free entry, free drinks, free food, some amazing bands and games it makes perfect sense to head on down and discuss the finer points of the no 360-spin rule for table football or how it takes just as much effort to score a phone number as it does to score a goal. Why not go just to practice your victory dance.
To get involved you need to sign up here. To check out all the event details go to the Facebook event page here.
There’s also a load of free stuff to win. Just enter photos of you and your ‘team’ out on the tiles, living and breathing the After Hours spirit here to have a chance of winning £500, PUMA gear, and have your photo recreated in VICE Magazine.
Check out the promo video accompanying the campaign here and head to www.puma.com/social for more details.

WeAreHQ & PUMA Royal Wedding Customs.
The Royal Wedding is taking over the world. Being British, webzine, online store and photography agency, WeAreHQ thought that it would only be right to do something to celebrate the biggest day of the Century by teaming up with PUMA and six underground artists to create a collection of one off custom shoes.
Art students, graphic designers and artists were briefed with just “Royal Wedding” and “Puma Suede Mid”, simple right?
Inspired by centuries of regal fashions, artists Chase, Ghettrocentricity, Marco Monteiro Hasse, Murab, Dupelux and Tiffany Baron took inspiration from The Irish Guards, Kate Middleton’s elusive wedding dress and Prince William’s Army uniform, it was no surprise that there were some very unique and interesting outcomes to this project.
The aim of the artists was to create something that put extravagance over practicality, something which is evident in the pictures you can see, as a member of the public said, “it would be a bit uncomfortable to wear a pair of trainers whilst dragging some cans along with you.” They also wanted to instill the humour that is attributed to PUMA and transferred that to the shoes, something you can see has been applied.

Selfridges Puma Installation.

To launch the SS11 Puma by Hussein Chalayan collection in Selfridges, Puma briefed creative agency Everyone Associates to create an impactful installation in the men’s fashion department. This is what they came up with…

Using the foundations of the collection as inspiration: innovative design for travel and urban living; the Puma space takes the form of a sloping topography of triangular-section vertical rods, which act like a three dimensional lenticular. As a visual metaphor for changing time-zones experienced when travelling, the installation transforms from black to white, to a bright, high-vis, reflective finish as the customer walks around it.

Each triangular rod features a QR code that, when scanned with a smart phone, links customers to maps of cool areas in cities around the world. iPads showcase the SS11 collection allowing customers to browse through key seasonal looks and information about Chalayan’s inspiration.

Continuing the innovative theme, apparel is displayed on bespoke, triangular section, magnetic hangers that hang from the underside of the rails with no means of support.
